Ingredients: Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Propylene Glycol, Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Polyquaternium 37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Petrolatum, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein, Hydrolyzed Soybean Protein, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Biotin (Vitamin H), Linoleic Acid (Vitamin F), Persia Gratissima (Avocado) Oil (contains Vitamins B2, D, A, E, K, and Potassium), Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Glycerin, Acrtlamidopropyltrimonium Chloride/Acrylates Copolymer, DMDM Hydantoin, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylparaben, Polysorbate 20, Propylparaben, CI 19140 (FD& C Yellow #5), CI 16035 (FD&C Red #40), CI 42090 (FD&C Blue #1).

Hello! I know that I am long over due for a post for you guys to read. This time I will be reviewing a Shampoo and Conditioner by Elasta QP. The UltraHydration Shampoo and Conditioner are from their Soy Oyl line. I came across this line by accident. I was in of a moisturizing conditioner, because all my conditioner(s) I had, ALL had protein in them. Well anyway, I went to Sally Beauty Supply and they had this brand on sale last month. (2/$12.00) So I picked the regular moisturizing and the deep conditioner. OMG...you guys first the conditioner of these products are HUGE. 33 oz. (that is a liter of product) for $6.00 a piece. Now, normally the products are on sale for $7.99 (Now that is STILL a good deal on these items when they are not on sale.)
Okay so let me tell you my hair is dry and course. And it needs ALL the moisture it can get. Let me tell you the Shampoo is amazing. It lathers up very well and smells wonderful. It gives your hair a good amount of clean which does not strip the hair. I used the shampoo for 2 lathers. The Conditioner also is a very good product. It too, smells good. It gives your hair a good feeling/ provides your hair with slip (which is a good way of saying that it not stripping the hair)  I applied the conditioner and I used the size of a quarter (maybe a bit more~ I can be a bit heavy handed when I use conditioner) I left the conditioner in for about 15 minutes. And then rinsed it out. Whoa Nelly, it was wonderful. Blow-dried my hair and it was very soft, and full swing.  And given the fact that I live in the south and it's summer. My hair was not dry and fried after the first few days of washing it.  Overall, I have no complaints about the line. It's budget friendly, smells good and above all it works! I would not tell you about this if I did not like it. They have a complete of products that you can locate at your local beauty supply stores and Sally's beauty supply stores also carry the line. (FYI: if you don't see the line in your local beauty supply or Sally's double check to see if they can order it for you. ***Also be aware that the local beauty supply may charge more for the products than Sally's would. Thus, why I purchased my products from Sally's**** Until next time.....Enjoy!

Beauty and The Sun: Info About Skin Protection

Hello! I hope that you are doing well as we are moving into summer! Wow....it's summer already. And you know what that means Spending time with friends and family, traveling, being out doors, going to the pool. But what's the one thing that you need to have with you with all those activies during the summer?? A good SPF! Here is great info I found for you all. Please take the time to read and get a good SPF (at least spf15) have a wonderful summer.....Until next time, enjoy!
(Information provided courtesy of: http://www.gosunsmart.org/yourskin/yourskin_protection.shtml )
Use sunscreen and lip balm regularly to protect yourself from the harmful rays of the sun. It’s easy!

Sunscreen Basic Info

Always choose and use a sunscreen that is:
  • An SPF 15 or higher
  • Broad-spectrum (protects from both UVA and UVB rays)
  • Waterproof or Sweatproof

Application tips

  • Apply the sunscreen generously to all exposed skin – most people do not use enough sunscreen and therefore do not get the maximum protection.
  • Reapply every two hours, and even more frequently if you are sweating, getting wet, or are in a windy climate.
  • Apply 30 minutes before going outside.
*Besides protecting you from sunburn, sunscreens help to prevent other skin damage related to sun exposure, such as premature aging and pre-cancerous growths.

Lip Balm

  • Always wear a lip balm with an SPF 15 or higher – remember that your lips can burn just like the rest of your skin.
  • Reapply often!
*Lip balm not only protects your lips from burning, but the moisture helps to prevent chapping and dryness as well.
Using sunscreen is an effective way to protect your skin from the sun’s damaging UV rays. However, since sunscreen cannot block all UV rays and many people do not apply it correctly, you should always practice additional sun safe behaviors such as wearing protective clothing and seeking shade when possible.

Definition and Workings of Sunscreen:

  • Sunscreen is a lotion formulated with unique chemical components to absorb UV light.
  • When sunscreen is applied to the skin, the chemical molecules form an invisible, protective layer on the skin that protects from penetrating UV rays.
  • All sunscreens protect from UVB rays, but only “Broad-Spectrum” sunscreens protect from both UVB and UVA rays.
  • UVB rays affect the top layers of the skin and are responsible for Burning.
  • UVA rays affect the lower layers of the skin and are responsible for Aging.
  • Remember to always buy a sunscreen that is broad-spectrum!

SPF... What’s it All About?

  • SPF stands for “Sun Protection Factor.”
  • Always wear a sunscreen with an SPF 15 or higher!
  • SPF was developed to describe the amount of protection that a sunscreen provides. No sunscreen can protect your skin from all of the UV rays, but a higher SPF number indicates protection from more rays.
  • The SPF number tells you how much longer you can stay outside without burning while wearing the sunscreen product as opposed to not wearing any sun protection product. SPF measures “time to burn.”

SPF Math

SPF Number x Time to Burn Without Sun Protection = Time to Burn while wearing sunscreen*
*assuming that sunscreen is applied properly
Example: If your skin would burn in 10 minutes in the afternoon sun without any sun protection, and you applied a sunscreen with an SPF 15, you would have 15 x 10 = 150 minutes (2.5 hours) before you would burn.
Percentage of Protection from damaging UV rays:
SPF 15 = 92%
SPF 30 = 97%
SPF 40 = 97.5%

There is some controversy about very high SPF numbers and just how much more protection they provide. As you can see from the percentages of protection of the different SPF numbers, the difference in UV ray protection in SPF numbers becomes minimal as the number increases past about 30 or 40. The difference of protection between SPF 15 and SPF 30 is great (5%), but the difference between SPF 30 and SPF 40 is minimal (0.5%).

The Confusing Part About Sunscreen

  • Many people think that SPF values can be added. Actually, SPF values cannot be added – if you apply a sunscreen of 8 and then one of 12, you will not have the protection of an SPF 20. You will only be getting the protection of an SPF 12.
  • Reapplication only helps to ensure that you have the amount of protection and time before you burn that you calculated when you first applied sunscreen that day. Since no sunscreens can protect your skin from all UV rays, some rays will get through.
  • After your calculated “time to burn” has expired, your skin has absorbed all the UV rays that it can handle before it will start to burn. Even if you reapply sunscreen at this point, you will still burn because some rays will get through to your skin and your skin has already been saturated with UV. Therefore, you need to get out of the sun at this point and let your skin rest before exposing it to more rays.
  • Reapplication only ensures that you have your original time outside – sunscreen can wear off because of sweat, wind, and other factors you need to reapply in order to be protected.
  • So what’s the lesson to be learned about sunscreen? If you know that you will be in the sun for a long period of time, start with a higher-SPF sunscreen in order to have protection for the entire time that you are exposed.

Sunscreen vs. Sunblock

  • Sunscreen contains chemicals that absorb UV rays before they damage the skin and sunblocks contain particles that physically block UV rays from reaching the skin.
  • Sunscreen needs to be applied about 30 minutes before sun exposure so that the chemicals have time to soak into your skin and form a layer of protection.
  • Sunblock does not need to be applied before going into the sun – it will begin to work as soon as you rub it on because it sits on top of the skin.

Environmental Factors Related to Sunscreen Performance

Certain conditions can actually increase the intensity of UV rays and put you at greater risk for skin damage. These conditions may also decrease the time that sunscreens keep you safe in the sun:
  • Higher altitudes
  • Low latitudes
  • Clear, sunny days
  • Mid-day sunshine (10am-3pm)
When any of these factors are present, you should be sure to wear a sunscreen with an SPF 15 or higher and re-apply your sunscreen every 2 hours – or better yet, minimize UV exposure by wearing cover-up clothing, a hat, sunglasses or goggles, and seeking shade when possible.

Sunscreen Use

  • Always make sure that your sunscreen is SPF 15 or higher, “broad-spectrum,” and waterproof or sweatproof.
  • A generous amount of sunscreen should be applied to all exposed skin (do not forget your ears and the back of your neck.) In the summer, it is recommended to use one ounce of sunscreen – the amount to fill a shot glass – to cover your exposed skin.
  • Allow at least 30 minutes for your sunscreen to absorb before you head into the sun so that the chemicals can form a protective shield.
  • Be sure to reapply another layer of sunscreen if you will be in the sun for more than 2 hours throughout the day under intense UV conditions, and especially when it’s windy or you’re sweating.

Incorporating Sunscreen Into Your Daily Routine

You can make sunscreen application easy to remember by making it a part of your day-to-day routine, like brushing your teeth. Keep a bottle of sunscreen with your other toiletries and apply it every day.
Women are lucky since many lotions and make-up products now include sun protection with an SPF of 15. Seek out these products and you can easily protect your skin from damaging UV rays.

Types of Sunscreen

Some people complain that certain types of sunscreens make them break-out, are too oily, or cause allergies. Improvements in sunscreen over the years have eliminated many of these problems. If you have sensitive skin, look for sunscreens that are:
  • PABA-free (PABA is a chemical that some people are allergic to – most sunscreens are now PABA-free.)
  • Noncomedogenic or oil-free sunscreens (will not clog pores.)
  • Sprays, lotions, gels, etc. – sunscreen comes in many different forms to suit various preferences.

Y

Random Info: 50 Best Skin-Care Tips of All Time

Mist Moisturizer, Not Water

If you mist, then moisturize too—it's two steps, says N.Y.C. dermatologist Francesca Fusco. When you just spritz, the water evaporates on the skin, creating dryness. Can't do both steps? Look for a mister with an emollient like glycerin.

Sponge On SPF

If you don't like the gooey feel of facial sunscreen, apply it with a sponge, which helps it penetrate.

Condition with Jasmine

Jasmine extract is a soothing oil rich with antioxidants. Many clients of N.Y.C. dermatologist David Colbert treat their faces with Rodin Olio Lussowhich contains jasmine to condition the skin and give it a healthy look.

Exfoliate Longer

When you want deep exfoliation, do it longer, not harder, as you cleanse your skin. "Don't think scrub when you're using one," since too much force is harmful, says Kenneth Milstead of Bliss Hollywood spa.

Check the Label

The fewer ingredients in an anti-redness product, the better. The simplest soother? Julia March, founder of N.Y.C.'s Julia March Integral Skin Care, suggests health-food-store staple aloe vera juice mixed with a few drops of jojoba oil, which "offers a lipid barrier to prevent moisture loss."

Lay Off the Liquor

More than one drink a day can cause increased oil production and enlarged pores, says Beverly Hills dermatologist Susan Evans. Lack of sleep can have the same effect, so be sure to get your z's—aim for at least seven hours a night.

Double-Cleanse Your Face

Wear a lot of makeup? Wash your face in two steps for the best results, says Milstead. First, remove makeup and sunscreen with a gentle cleanser that's designed to break down cosmetics—try Shu Uemura's Skin Purifier ($72; at shuuemura-usa.com). Next, use a formula with soothing, rejuvenating effects, like CeraVe's hydrating cleanser ($11; at drugstore.com). Rub it in with upward motions from neck to forehead.

Mix in Sunscreen

If your favorite day cream doesn't contain sunscreen, mix it with a lightweight SPF lotion like Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster SPF 30 ($43; at dermalogica.com). Look for micronized zinc, Avobenzone, or Helioplex, says N.Y.C. dermatologist Rosemarie Ingleton. They offer broad-spectrum protection without leaving a purple or whitish cast.

Wear SPF Clothing

To give a favorite shirt or casual sundress extra sun protection, N.Y.C. dermatologist Jody Levine suggests laundering with Sunguard Laundry Aid ($2; sunguardsunprotection.com) for a Universal Protection Factor of 30, compared to a UPF 5 for a plain T-shirt. Like SPF in sunscreen, UPF measures the sun protection in clothing. Or wear a rash guard like Nicole Kidman. The ones from Athleta have a UPF of 50.

Pop Pomegranate Pills

Boost your sunscreen by popping a pomegranate-extract supplement (up to 60 mg; at health-food stores). It can enhance skin's sun-protective properties by 25 percent, says L.A. dermatologist Howard Murad.

Cool Down Your Products

If you have acne-prone skin, use an oil-free spray sunscreen like Clarins Oil-Free spray SPF 15 ($30; at clarinsusa.com). Since it goes on as a fine mist, you'll avoid spreading pore-clogging bacteria from your hands. Prone to ruddiness? Store products in a cooler when outside in the sun: Cold ingredients will constrict blood vessels and make your face look less flushed, says Dr. Evans.

Try DIY Dermatology

Remember this home remedy the next time you get a big pimple: Do several cycles of hot compresses, then apply a glob of 1 percent hydrocortisone cream, like Aveeno hydrocortisone anti-itch cream ($6; at drugstore.com, and let it sit for two hours. "It's very similar to getting a shot of hydrocortisone to deflate the bump," says Dr. Fusco.

Skip Extreme Heat

Intense heat can exacerbate redness, says spa owner Julia March. To limit the appearance of broken capillaries, skip saunas, steam rooms, and spicy foods.

Lay It On Thin, then Thick

For optimum results—and maximum penetration—apply products in the right order, says Doris Day, a dermatologist in N.Y.C. First use the lightest product (usually a serum), followed by heavier formulas. For instance, in the morning apply an antioxidant serum, then a moisturizer, and cap it off with sunscreen.

Embrace the Humidity

Moisture in the air helps skin look dewy, so keep hydrated year-round with a humidifier, says Dr. Colbert. Air-o-Swiss's office-friendly Cool Mist Travel Ultrasonic ($50; airoswiss.net) attaches to a half-liter water bottle.

Tote Towelettes

No time for a post-gym shower? Pack a stash of wipes, says N.Y.C. dermatologist Heidi Waldorf. Almay's Oil-Free makeup-remover towelettes ($6; at drugstores) cleanse away the dirt that triggers breakouts.

Pass Time with a Pastime

Stress sets off hormones that cause acne, so make time to wind down. Find a hobby, says David Bank, a N.Y.C. dermatologist. (Amanda Seyfried knits.) Less stress increases oxygen flow, minimizing flare-ups.

Treat (Don't Lick) Your Lips

If you assume a crusty cut at the corner of your mouth is chapped lips, don't. It could be perlèche, a fungal infection. Dab on an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin ($8; at Walgreens) every few hours to kill the bacteria, says Dr. Fusco.

Prep for Sleep

When it comes to maintenance, proximity and convenience are key: Keep a little case with lip balm, cuticle oil, and hand and foot cream in your bedside table, and make a ritual of applying each one before going to sleep.

Treat Sore Feet

Prevent blisters with a silicone-based lubricant, says Ji Baek, founder of Rescue Beauty Lounge in N.Y.C. For strappy shoes like Leighton Meester's, swipe on Band Aid's Friction Stick (8; at drugstore.com) if you feel chafing.
With airbrush tans, "have the technician spray your face once, but the rest of your body four times," says Julia Marrero of Forever Tan in Miami. Add facial bronzer like Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Bronzing Powder ($35; Elizabetharden.com) for a more realistic glow.

Try a Facial Scrub

Wrinkle creams with retinol or glycolic acid can leave skin scaly. Dr. Day recommends reaching for a facial scrubber once a week to remove dead skin cells: "I like the Clarisonic brush ($149; at ulta.com) because it only removes the cells that are ready to go. It doesn't strip the top level, which is important for maintaining moisture and sun protection."

Plump Your Lips

Try the Clarisonic on your lips for a few seconds—they'll look plump (like Kim Kardashian's!) for several hours, says Dr. Fusco.

Banish Your Bumps

For those who get keratosis pilaris, or little bumps along the upper arms, L.A. dermatologist Ava Shamban suggests using an exfoliating cleanser, like NIA 24's (Physical Cleansing Scrub, $35; at nia24.com) with the Clarisonic, followed by a lotion containing glycolic or lactic acid like AmLactin ($16; Walgreens).

Choose "Fragrance Free" Over "Unscented"

Formulas that claim to be unscented can still contain aromatic essential oils, which may upset sensitive skin, says spa owner March. If perfumes tend to irritate your skin, check for labels that say "fragrance free." First Aid Beauty Gentle body wash ($14; at firstaidbeauty.com) is mild and still ultra-moisturizing.

Disguise Your Tattoo

What to do if your strapless bridesmaid dress shows off your body art—and you don't have the attitude to flaunt it like Angelina Jolie? Hide a tattoo with a highly pigmented oil-free foundation like Cover FX Total Coverage cream ($42; sephora.com). After drying the area and hands, use a synthetic brush and short strokes to pat on the foundation. Set the area with a translucent powder, then ensure that it lasts all night (through dancing and photo-ops) with a makeup fixative spray—a favorite of professional clowns like Kryolan Dermacolor Fixier spray ($20; at naimies.com).

Baby Your Face

When washing skin, avoid abrasive puffs and just use your fingertips. If your routine includes a washcloth, get the gentler, low-loop terry ones made for newborns, says Wendy Allred, education manager at N.Y.C.'s Bliss spa.

Soothe with Fruit

A cool remedy for too much sun: L.A. spa owner Ole Henriksen suggests a calming bath of warm water, half a gallon of milk, and 15 drops of lavender oil. Watermelon is also an anti-inflammatory; Dr. Shamban likes to purée the fruit and slather it on tingly skin.

Add a Hint of Glint

If your sunscreen leaves you looking ghostly, try this trick: Mix a drop or two of liquid bronzer, such as Clinique Up-lighting Liquid Illuminator ($23; clinique.com), into a teaspoon of your SPF.

Stub Out the Cig

Smoking has been shown to make acne worse since it diminishes the delivery of oxygen to the skin and robs it of nutrients, thereby inhibiting scars from healing, Dr. Bank says. Not enough reason to quit? Smoke depletes moisture, making skin lose its luster and look wrinkly.

Clean (the House) Gently

Housecleaning takes its toll on sensitive skin, since the chemicals in sprays and wipes can trigger irritation, says Julia March. Don't throw in the towel (or call a cleaning lady), just concoct this all-purpose cleaner: Mix ½ cup vinegar and ¼ cup baking soda into 2 quarts water. For laundry, try dye-free detergents.

Hide Imperfections

Any nick, scrape, and bug bite can turn into a dark brown spot for women of color. "Hyper-pigmentation is our biggest issue, hands down," Dr. Ingleton says. She suggests hiding marks by custom-blending concealer: Mix liquid bronzer like Guerlain Terracotta Huile du Voyageur Dry Oil SPF 8 ($59; at saks.com) with your body cream. We like Vaseline Sheer Infusion ($6; at drugstore.com) The bonus: "You get a nice glow on your skin."

Sidestep Sweets

A low-glycemic diet—lots of vegetables, whole grains, and few processed sugars—can eliminate acne, according to a new Australian study. Refined carbohydrates, sugary treats, and processed foods spike insulin, which triggers a surge of other hormones that can cause blemishes. Low-glycemic foods, meanwhile, help the body regulate insulin, says Valori Treloar, an integrative dermatologist in Newton, Mass., and the author of The Clear Skin Diet.

Clue in to Cukes

Maximize cucumber’s calming effect by shredding it—that way it will cover more of your puffy eyes than two little slices. Skin-care expert Ole Henriksen recommends a treatment that’s loved by clients like Jessica Alba: Wrap grated cuke, sushi-style, in cheese cloth. Sit down, tilt your head back, and place the roll across your eyes.

Slather Sour Cream

Twice a week apply a tablespoon of full-fat sour cream to sensitive skin for 20 minutes, Julia March says. It will nourish touchy complexions that react badly to store-bought masks. According to Dr. Shamban, the lactic acid gently smooths skin and improves texture.

Don't Yo-Yo Diet

When body weight goes up and down, it loosens elasticity and makes skin sag, says Dr. Levine. So she suggests finding a happy medium (even if it's heavier) on the scale: "You lose the weight first in the face, but a fuller face may just look younger."

Nix the Rx

Until recently, some dermatologists pooh-poohed over-the-counter wrinkle treatments. Not anymore. According to a study in the British Journal of Dermatology, Olay's new Professional Pro-X ($42; at drugstore.com)regimen improved the appearance of facial lines just as well as the leading prescription product.

Choose Good Oils

To give dry skin healthy, natural oil, Dr. Shamban recommends a weekly 15-minute mask of mashed avocado. Or once a week massage a tablespoon of olive oil into your face in lieu of your usual night cream—but skip it if you're acne-prone.

Launder your Body

If you have chronic eczema, research from Northwestern University shows that a very diluted bleach bath (about ½ cup for a full tub, which is weaker than the chemicals in a swimming pool) kills the surface bacteria that cause inflammation.

Anti-Age with Ice

For homemade skin care, all you need is an ice cube tray, Ole Henriksen says. Pour in some apple juice and freeze. The malic acid in the frozen juice is an anti-aging alpha-hydroxy acid. "Pass the ice cube gently over the skin," he says. "It feels like a mini-facelift!"

Wax (Then Tweeze) Your Underarms

If you want to switch from shaving to waxing your underarms, fall is the time to start. Sleeveless season is over, making the interim growth stage easier to handle, says Ji Baek. Then, the more you wax, the less hair grows back. "Wax every month and by summer, you can just pluck out strays," she says. Our tool of choice: Tweezerman for Benefit slant tweezer ($25; at benefitcosmetics.com).

Sleep on your Back

Yes, it's relaxing to snooze on your tummy, but to avoid wrinkles, flip over. "I can tell which side of their face my patients sleep on," says Dr. Day. A Vanity pillow ($145; vanitypillow.com) cradles your head, preventing tossing and turning.

Eat Your Water

"When you eat hydrating fruits and vegetables like grapefruit or cucumber, the water penetrates and plumps up cells better than drinking water," Dr. Murad says. Aim for three daily servings of fruit and five of veggies.

Boost Your Brows

Sometimes, optical illusions work like the best anti-agers. Lush, thick brows—like Penélope Cruz's—give a more youthful appearance. Fill in sparse growth with a lash enhancer like Latisse (by prescription) once a day, says Dr. Fusco.

Soak with Tea

If you suffer from foot odor, soak your feet in a bowl of very dark black tea, like Lipton. Let the tea really steep, says Dr. Hochman: The tannins change the pH of your skin and combat odor.

Heal Your Heels

After a season of flip-flops, get rid of calluses by applying wart remover like Compound W Fast-Acting gel ($7; at CVS) overnight, says Dr. Fusco. "Just pumice away the dead skin in the morning."

Master your Retinoids

Vitamin A derivatives are key to anti-aging regimens, yet many women avoid them because they're irritating. Dr. Day recommends building up tolerance by using a pea-size drop every other day. Or for a milder version, try Atralin ($192; by prescription). "It's a gel base and gentler than thicker creams," says San Francisco dermatologist Seth Matarasso. Whichever retinol you opt for, counter redness with an antioxidant-rich moisturizer like Revaléskin night cream with coffeeberry ($72; skinstore.com).

Take Lotion Further

Once a week, slather your hands and feet with a thick lotion and cover in plastic wrap for about a half-hour—then strip it away to check out the soft results. For severely dry, chapped hands, Dr. Levine likes dense, rich Triple Cream ($19; drugstore.com), a formula derived from diaper- rash ointment, with oat-kernel extract and petrolatum.

Prevent Ingrowns

Salicylic acid is an effective ingredient for treating the bother-some bikini-line issue, but some women find it too harsh. As an alternative, Ji Baek suggests a facial toner like 3Lab's Perfect Beautifying toner ($55; 3lab.com) with lavender extract to soothe bumps and minimize redness.

Deal with Dark Circles

File this under "Sad but true": As we age we become more susceptible to dark circles. Melanin builds up under eyes, making skin appear saggy. The best treatment, say dermatologists, is an injectable filler like Restylane or Juvéderm (starting at $750–$1,000 per syringe). It pulls the skin taut, getting rid of the crêpey effect that emphasizes the discoloration.  (Info Courtesy: instyle.com)

From the first time I used them I was instanly in love with them. I use them when I am cleaning my brushes to dry them  right side down in a cup. Below is picture so you can fully understand what I am talking about. They really help with keeping your brushes in shape and help the brushes dry correctly.  Here is coastal scents website link to order them. The brush guard .

Agran Oil

Hello, Everyone! I know that I have been away for awhile. (Super busy with school. But now I am on winter break) So, I am back and you know what means..updates for you guys. Let's begin shall we.... Okay I know that everyone has been talking about Argan Oil. Now I have yet to try but I know that alot of you are currently using or just as curious I am about it. I discovered this company's website and low and be hold they have a ton of tips and you can also order products from them. Here are the tips that I think would be most helpful to you all! To place an order here is the website info: http://jeunedage.com/products/argan-oil/

~ Argan oil fights wrinkles due to premature aging, in particular crow’s feet (wrinkles under the eyes).
~ The presence of Squalene helps keep skin soft. Due to degeneration our skin loses its softness and tightness which are one of the most apparent symptoms of aging. Argan oil fights against these degeneration effects.
~ Because of the abundance of Vitamin E, much more than other natural oils, Argan oil is good for reducing skin irritation and minor ailments.
~ Great as a simple moisturizer in small amounts.
~ Argan oil helps to regulate sebum production and keeps it to a manageable level which makes it just as good for oily skin. Sebum is the substance secreted by sebaceous glands, which keeps the skin wet and protects against dryness. But in excess, sebum is bad for the skin and can cause acne.
~ Argan oil helps to prevent stretch marks on skin made by pregnancy.
~ Argan oil is frequently used in the treatment of skin conditions like Acne, Chickenpox and Psoriasis.
~ Because of the protein content the oil is also very good for the elasticity of skin. It strengthens the protein bonding structures in the skin that works to tighten the skin.
~ Also great for cuticles, the oil gives strength to weak nails. It can also strengthen the delicate skin at the root of nails and makes it smooth.
Applying Argan oil
For pure raw Argan oil, only a few drops are sufficient to apply to the whole face. Usually applied by a dropper the oil can be used at night as a moisturizing agent. It is non-greasy and non-oily and absorbs into the skin readily and does not leave any oily feel if used in the appropriate amount. It can also be used as a base for make-up because of its non-oily nature.
For nails, an equal mixture of lemon juice and Argan oil is all that is needed. Dip your nails and cuticles into the mixture for about 10 minutes. The treatment will increase the softness of cuticles and strengthen the nails.
On the scalp drop the oil into the desired area and rub in. It can also be used as a conditioner for hair. Use a small amount and run your fingers through your hair.
Until next time.........Enjoy! Xoxo

Hello! I am so excited to show you guys what I got from Ulta today. First of all, they are having an AWESOME sale on cosmetics from: Maybelline, Revlon, NYX, and Physicians Formula. At 40% off this week, the sale ends on 10-2-10.  When I went to Ulta today I mainly went to purchase the NYX Nude on Nude Palette but they were sold out ): So instead I got the Bronze Smokey Eye Kit (: . I have to admit I do like the colors. I have not done a swatch with them or anything yet. But come tomorrow I will giving them a try. Now the single eyeshadow colors I got did not take a lot of thinking about them. I think that you need a black eyeshadow. And the color Rock is black with what looks like shimmer/glitter in it. I think it would look great for an special look. The lip glosses 2 are back ups, because I will search high and low when I have misplaced or lost my favorite lipgloss of the moment. I have lost WAY to many pricey lip glosses over the years. And besides,  don't act like I am the only one who has ever given someone the evil eye when they have a lip gloss on that looks JUST LIKE the one I can no longer find.(lol...smh about that!!!)  It's one of the GREAT reasons why I LOVE Nyx lip glosses. What they cost you can get 2 for the price of what most other cosmetics would charge for 1 lip gloss.  Sponge cake looked really cute. The pencils were back-ups also. The Bare Minerals Matte Foundation was FREE. I really love my Maybelline Mineral Power Foundation. Now, I now what you may be wondering is much every cost... Well are you sitting down the grand total was......$22.49 TOTAL! So if you can get to Ulta this make sure you do it will be so worth it (: Until next time...Enjoy!

Random Tips # 3

Hi, Everyone! I am here with more tips for you guys. Hopefully, you will find them useful like the other ones..Enjoy!

~ Ran out of lotion or conditioner?  Cut open the containers of the product(s) to expose the remaining product that is still in there. I always do this before throwing the bottles. There often a good bit of product to still use.  ***be careful when doing so, in order to make sure that you don't injure yourself***

~Cleaning tarnished jewelry: Products needed: baking soda, aluminum foil, and a large glass dish. How to use it: Line the dish with foil and place your jewelry on top- just don't overcrowd too much. Sprinkle with baking soda, cover with boiling water, and let it all soak for 10 minutes. (The tarnish gets transferred to the foil. And everything will come out looking shiny).

~ Pillow case containers make great containers to use when you travel or even for handbag. They are really durable plus since they are clear you can see what is inside.

~ Almost out of lip gloss.. Place the gloss in a cup of hot water and in about 15 minutes the last of the lip gloss that is in the sides if tube will reached by the applicator.

Until next time...Xoxo!

Review: MAC Fix + Spray ~useful tips~

Hey! I know that it has been a VERY long time since I posted a review. And I do apologize for that. Just been super busy..life interrupted. Any way I have a review and tips for you about the MAC Fix+ Spray. When I first purchased this product I got have to admit that I got sucked into buying it (guilty of watching one to many of the AWESOME videos from the oh so many make-up people on Youtube). I just had to have it (that product junkie itch..you know how it is). I when to the closest MAC store near where I live to get it and once I had it in my hands I had no idea what to use it for. The lady in the lady store was a bit helpful giving the smallest detail for it's use as a setting spray after you finished applying your make-up. Well you all know that I wear mineral make-up. If you happen to wear mineral make-up, you all to well a wear of how powdery it can look sometimes after you have applied it. The same goes for using ANY type of foundation which can look a bit like a mask sometimes. This spray is GREAT for taking away that powdery, mask look and give it more of a second skin/natural look effect. The spray costs $18.00(before tax). It really great for the skin over all. This spray is awesome because it is an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. In addition to using it as a setting spray here are the other uses for the Fix+ Spray:

~finishing spray to set your make-up.
~ refresher spray to soothe your skin during the day.
~ relieves dry, sunburned skin.
~ use as a  moisturizing toner during your daily skin regimen.
~ for use as after shave relief to calm skin.
~mixing medium for pigments, eye shadows, powder liners.
~ for applying  MAC mineral eye shadows and mineral skinfinish.

Until next time. Enjoy...

Review: MAC Paint Pot in Painterly - VS- NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone

Hello! Lately I have been using eyeshadow bases like crazy. Now, you know how much I LOVE MAKE-UP PRIMER, right??. Well I've been trying out different bases to use under my eyeshadow everyday.  For the most part I will generally grab what my whatever is near me to use as my eyeshadow base (concealer, foundation, jumbo eye pencils, etc). I have had the MAC paint pot for while and since I got it. I have used it barely, but I do enjoy having it. While on the other hand I use the NYX jumbo eye pencils at least 2-4 times a week as a base. So, now most of you know I love me so NYX products! Well in the last few months they have come out with these WONDERFUL eyeshadow bases. There are 3 base colors in total which are Skin Tone, Pearl, and White. The nyx bases are to help hold the color all day. Which I can say is true. Now, MAC paint pot in Painterly has quite a following in it's own right also. This is a wonderful base as well. And does a GREAT job also at keeping eye color in it's place as well. So, I was curious as to see how they compare to each other. Today, I applied my mac paint pot on one eye and the nyx eyeshadow base on the other. They both are equal in staying power and giving you the color impact you want and need from a base. So if you need great eyeshadow base these are two AWESOME options for you to choose from. The MAC paint pot(s) cost $16.50 and the NYX eyeshadow base(s) cost $7.00. Also you may luck up and be able to catch a NYX cosmetics on sale in your area or at nyxcosmetics.com. If you are looking for MAC check your mall or maccosmetics.com. Until next time.....Enjoy!
Xoxo,
Y.
