Random Info: 10 Ways to Live Longer
~ Look For the Laugh
Continue Reading...
People with a good sense of humor increased their odds of
survival by 31 percent, according to a 2006 Norwegian study of
critically ill patients. When something strikes you as funny, your body
produces less aging stress hormones, explains Dr. Bruce Rabin, medical
director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Healthy
Lifestyle Program.
~ Pop Five Pills
The daily doses for your health and longevity: one
multivitamin; 600 milligrams of DHA/omega-3 fatty acid (fish oil) for
brain function; 1,000 IU vitamin D for bone and heart health; 600
milligrams of calcium for bones; and 200 milligrams of magnesium to
counteract the bloat and constipation that calcium can cause, says Dr.
Michael Roizen, co-author of You: Staying Young. ***For maximum absorption, take half a multivitamin at breakfast, half at dinner.***
~ Don't Gum Up the Works
One little strand of floss can keep disease at bay. "Flossing
prevents gingivitis, which ages your arteries and immune system," Dr.
Roizen says. In fact, studies show that people with gum disease have an
increased risk of heart disease and a higher mortality rate.
~ Talk and Walk
You probably already know that walking 30 minutes a day is
great for you—but bringing a friend along is even better. You not only
get the antiaging benefits of physical activity but also the social
contact that helps bolster immunity and reduce stress, says Dr. Roizen.
People over 70 with a lot of friends live an average of 22 percent
longer than those with few personal connections, a 10-year Australian
study found.
~Taste the Rainbow
The more naturally colorful your diet, the healthier it is.
Vibrantly hued fruits and veggies are loaded with antioxidants, says Dr.
Mark Liponis, medical director of Canyon Ranch resorts and author of
Ultra Longevity. Fill your grocery cart, lunch bag, and dinner plate
with a ROYGBIV array of produce.
~ Aim for Your Optimal Weight
Sticking close to your teenage weight is good for your health
and your vanity. Gaining a lot between the ages of 18 and 40 is
particularly dangerous because "every 10 percent increase in weight
raises blood pressure, and high blood pressure is one of the major
factors affecting aging," says Dr. Roizen. Plus, lowering your daily
caloric intake by 10 to 20 percent seems to be linked to a longer life,
says Dr. Terry Grossman, co-author of Transcend: Nine Steps to Living Well Forever.
~ Do Some Good
People who volunteer live longer and have fewer overall health
problems, including depression and heart disease, than those who don't,
according to a 2007 review of more than 30 studies. "It's a way to make
friends and build social networks, and it gives people a sense of
purpose," Dr. Rabin says.
~ De-Stress with Intimacy
Sex has been linked to lower blood pressure and a heartier
immune system. "It relaxes you and helps strengthen your relationship
with your partner, which in turn increases longevity," explains Dr.
Grossman. To wit, one study found that women who said they enjoyed sex
lived longer than those who didn't.
~ Finish Those Annoying Tasks
The burden of leaving a lot unfinished on your to-do list—think
de-cluttering closets or paying a stack of bills—can have the same
cumulative impact on health as a major life event like divorce or a
death, research has shown. This sort of generalized stress can age you
the equivalent of eight years, Dr. Roizen says.
~ Hit the Sack
Seven to eight hours of shut-eye a night is ideal, research
shows. "Sleep deprivation increases the risk of heart disease, obesity,
and diabetes, and weakens your immune system," explains Dr. Liponis. To
achieve the deepest rest, he recommends sleeping in a cool, pitch-dark
room—use eyeshades for a blackout effect if you need to.

Review: The Brush Guard
Hi, Everyone! Today I have a review for you. Sometime ago I order the Brush Guard(s) from Coastal Scents. (OMG I LUV that site.). I had seen these things being used by Michelle Phan on youtube in one her of videos. (I can't remember which one so....I am not even going to act like I do.) I was on coastal scents site and I noticed that they carried them. I order the variety pack. (which is good because it has the guards for you eye, blush, face and etc brushes). From the first time I used them I was instanly in love with them. I use them when I am cleaning my brushes to dry them right side down in a cup. Below is picture so you can fully understand what I am talking about. They really help with keeping your brushes in shape and help the brushes dry correctly. Here is coastal scents website link to order them. The brush guard .
They offer different pack for brushes but all cost $4.95 per pack. Until next time.............Enjoy!

Agran Oil
Hello, Everyone! I know that I have been away for awhile. (Super busy with school. But now I am on winter break) So, I am back and you know what means..updates for you guys. Let's begin shall we.... Okay I know that everyone has been talking about Argan Oil. Now I have yet to try but I know that alot of you are currently using or just as curious I am about it. I discovered this company's website and low and be hold they have a ton of tips and you can also order products from them. Here are the tips that I think would be most helpful to you all! To place an order here is the website info: http://jeunedage.com/products/argan-oil/
~ Argan oil fights wrinkles due to premature aging, in particular crow’s feet (wrinkles under the eyes).
~ The presence of Squalene helps keep skin soft. Due to degeneration our skin loses its softness and tightness which are one of the most apparent symptoms of aging. Argan oil fights against these degeneration effects.
~ Because of the abundance of Vitamin E, much more than other natural oils, Argan oil is good for reducing skin irritation and minor ailments.
~ Great as a simple moisturizer in small amounts.
~ Argan oil helps to regulate sebum production and keeps it to a manageable level which makes it just as good for oily skin. Sebum is the substance secreted by sebaceous glands, which keeps the skin wet and protects against dryness. But in excess, sebum is bad for the skin and can cause acne.
~ Argan oil helps to prevent stretch marks on skin made by pregnancy.
~ Argan oil is frequently used in the treatment of skin conditions like Acne, Chickenpox and Psoriasis.
~ Because of the protein content the oil is also very good for the elasticity of skin. It strengthens the protein bonding structures in the skin that works to tighten the skin.
~ Also great for cuticles, the oil gives strength to weak nails. It can also strengthen the delicate skin at the root of nails and makes it smooth.
Applying Argan oil
For pure raw Argan oil, only a few drops are sufficient to apply to the whole face. Usually applied by a dropper the oil can be used at night as a moisturizing agent. It is non-greasy and non-oily and absorbs into the skin readily and does not leave any oily feel if used in the appropriate amount. It can also be used as a base for make-up because of its non-oily nature.
For nails, an equal mixture of lemon juice and Argan oil is all that is needed. Dip your nails and cuticles into the mixture for about 10 minutes. The treatment will increase the softness of cuticles and strengthen the nails.
On the scalp drop the oil into the desired area and rub in. It can also be used as a conditioner for hair. Use a small amount and run your fingers through your hair.
Until next time.........Enjoy! Xoxo

Random Tips #4
Hey! I am back with some more tips for you....Enjoy!
~ Have you ever had candle wax spill onto your carpet? The best way to clean up the spill is by first, remove any excess wax that you can without disturbing the carpeting pile. Cut a paper grocery bag to make a flat surface large enough to fully cover the spill, and place over the wax. With a warm (not too hot!) iron, press down on the bag and move in small circles. The wax should liquefy, creating a grease-like stain that will appear on the bag. Continue moving the bag to a new clean area, and then repeat until all of the wax attaches itself to the bag.
If there is extra-stubborn residue remaining, you can try applying an ice cube to re-harden the melted wax, then repeat the process. ( Note: For berber carpets, be sure not to tug at any of the fiber loops as that can cause a run that can span the length of the carpet!) ***PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THE IRON MAKING SURE THAT DOES COME IN CONTACT WITH YOUR SKIN. AND MAKE SURE THAT WHEN USE IT ON YOUR CARPET THAT YOU ALWAYS PLACE IT OVER THE BROWN PAPER BAG AND NOT DIRECTLY ON YOUR CARPET. SO THAT WAY YOU DON'T MESS UP YOU CARPET AND IRON!**** (Info provided by AOLShelterpop Oct 20,2010)
~How to look good in natural light
1. Apply in actual daylight if ppossoble: find the nearest window facing the sun and prop up a standing mirror or buy a desktop lamp witha 'daylight' bulb.
2. Mix foundation with a skin cream: Moisturizer blends so well with any make-up.
3. Stipple foundation on a fluffy, buffing syntheic brush: the finish is super-understated.
4. Blush is so flattering: powder formulas in particular have a delicate sparkle and versatility.
5. Brighten your eyes with plae yellow: Line your eye with a pale yellow eyeliner if they are tired or red-looking. (Info provided by: Lucky Magazine May 2010)
~ Remove ink stains with glycerin:
1. First, check the clothing label: this works on washable fabrics ONLY. Then place a clean cloth underneath the stain, inside the garment, to prevent seepage.
2. Dip a cotton swab into the solution- you just need a tiny bit!- and rub carefully on the stain for couple of minutes.
3.Finally, mix a few drops of gentle laundry detergent (like woolite) with a small amount of water. Apply to the stain with a fresh swab until in lathers, then wash the garment in cold water. (Info provided by: Lucky Magazine February 2010)

Review: Every Man Jack Face Scrub Signature Mint
Hello, Hello! Okay so you all know that I have oily skin. Now, I have never really been a person to complain about having oily skin. I really don't mind it actually. But as you know really have to exfoliate my skin a couple of times a week. Okay right off the bat baking soda is one the best facial scrubs that you could ever get your hands, period! Over the years I have pretty much tried most of the facial scrubs on the market that you can think of. Well over the years men's skin care has really improve. So, I needed a scrub one day and I was in Target (y'all already know much of a habit that store is to me~lmbo) anywho, I had to get some shaving gel and noticed that over in that area they carry the men's facial products so I saw this facial scrub by Every Man Jack. It was on sale so I read the back and I sold. It had ever thing that we (product junkies) could ask for from a scrub. Here is the rundown on the info: This effective, yet gentle scrub deep cleans to remove dirt and oil, leaving your skin feeling smooth and clean. Yes it does exactly that. Amazing I know, right!
Coconut-derived surfactants deep clean. Jojoba beads remove dry and dead skin. Marine extracts and Vitamin E soothe and moisturize. Signature mint fragrance refreshes plus it smells just like a pepper mint patti. No Parabens. No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. No phthalates. No Dyes. No Animal Testing. I know that you are thinking that I am going to say that it cost like $15.00 right? Wrong... it costs between $5.00-$6.50 for a 5 fl oz (150ml) at Target. If you are in need of a scrub or a new to try next you are in the store stroll over to the men's skin care area and check out The Every Man Jack line. Enjoy....Until next time!

Y.

Love Her Look: Charlize Theron
Hi, Everyone! I hope that you are well as you reading this post. I have been a fan of Charlize Theron since I first saw her in the movie "Two days in the valley". She is just one of crazy beautiful woman and an amazing actress. She is someone that you cannot seem to help but look at her when she is in view. I remember a couple of years ago, when we went to movies to see the "Hancock" when it came out. The part where the camera is really close up on her face my sister and I both could not help but notice how flawless her skin appeared. And her is always pulled together in a way that makes it easy to apply to your everyday look if you wanted. I really like her make-up and hairstyle which is a general "no make-up/natural" look. So here are pictures of Ms. Theron to view. Until next time...Enjoy!

Hey! I hope that you well. As you all know I love make-up brushes. I am always saying that you don't have spend a ton of money on brushes. Recently, a good friend of mine was in the process of wanting to purchase some new brushes. Well she went to the make-up counter of one the brands she likes. When she started to notice the prices of the brushes she almost ran out of the store. She called me and asked where could she some brushes that would not brake the bank while giving her great application. I told her to go to Michael's ( yes, the craft store). Below you will find a list of brushes that I gave her that I used before to purchase my bushes. I hope you enjoy. Until next time...

Hello! I hope that you are doing as you are reading this. I have to admit that I am just like the rest of you when it comes to having certain celebrities that capture your attention with their choice of fashion sense (or the stylist they pay for that fashion sense~LOL), Hair, Make-up, etc... You get where I am going with this right?! We all have this list of celebrities who we love to know so we can raid their closets in order get the "can't be seen in the same stuff twice" from them (admit it, don't act like I would be the only one to day dream about that perk from being friends~ lol)! To me Kerry Washington is one of those celebs I have on my list. I have seen alot of movies in which she stars. And I just love her "natural" make-up that she pulls off each and every time. I hope that you enjoy the photos of her that I have posted until next time! Enjoy...

Random Tips # 3
Hi, Everyone! I am here with more tips for you guys. Hopefully, you will find them useful like the other ones..Enjoy!
~ Ran out of lotion or conditioner? Cut open the containers of the product(s) to expose the remaining product that is still in there. I always do this before throwing the bottles. There often a good bit of product to still use. ***be careful when doing so, in order to make sure that you don't injure yourself***
~Cleaning tarnished jewelry: Products needed: baking soda, aluminum foil, and a large glass dish. How to use it: Line the dish with foil and place your jewelry on top- just don't overcrowd too much. Sprinkle with baking soda, cover with boiling water, and let it all soak for 10 minutes. (The tarnish gets transferred to the foil. And everything will come out looking shiny).
~ Pillow case containers make great containers to use when you travel or even for handbag. They are really durable plus since they are clear you can see what is inside.
~ Almost out of lip gloss.. Place the gloss in a cup of hot water and in about 15 minutes the last of the lip gloss that is in the sides if tube will reached by the applicator.
Until next time...Xoxo!

Hello, everyone! Did you know, you can easily fix broken shadows? Let me tell you how.....
Just by putting a few drops of rubbing alcohol into each one and mix to make a muddy texture, re-mold into shape, then let dry. A fixed shadow and the color and texture remain intact. I cannot tell you how many shadows, blushes, and face powders I've saved by using this quick trick! Until next time enjoy....

Review: MAC Fix + Spray ~useful tips~
Hey! I know that it has been a VERY long time since I posted a review. And I do apologize for that. Just been super busy..life interrupted. Any way I have a review and tips for you about the MAC Fix+ Spray. When I first purchased this product I got have to admit that I got sucked into buying it (guilty of watching one to many of the AWESOME videos from the oh so many make-up people on Youtube). I just had to have it (that product junkie itch..you know how it is). I when to the closest MAC store near where I live to get it and once I had it in my hands I had no idea what to use it for. The lady in the lady store was a bit helpful giving the smallest detail for it's use as a setting spray after you finished applying your make-up. Well you all know that I wear mineral make-up. If you happen to wear mineral make-up, you all to well a wear of how powdery it can look sometimes after you have applied it. The same goes for using ANY type of foundation which can look a bit like a mask sometimes. This spray is GREAT for taking away that powdery, mask look and give it more of a second skin/natural look effect. The spray costs $18.00(before tax). It really great for the skin over all. This spray is awesome because it is an aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. In addition to using it as a setting spray here are the other uses for the Fix+ Spray:
~finishing spray to set your make-up.
~ refresher spray to soothe your skin during the day.
~ relieves dry, sunburned skin.
~ use as a moisturizing toner during your daily skin regimen.
~ for use as after shave relief to calm skin.
~mixing medium for pigments, eye shadows, powder liners.
~ for applying MAC mineral eye shadows and mineral skinfinish.
Until next time. Enjoy...

Review: MAC Paint Pot in Painterly - VS- NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone
Hello! Lately I have been using eyeshadow bases like crazy. Now, you
know how much I LOVE MAKE-UP PRIMER, right??. Well I've been trying out
different bases to use under my eyeshadow everyday. For the most part I
will generally grab what my whatever is near me to use as my eyeshadow
base (concealer, foundation, jumbo eye pencils, etc). I have had the MAC
paint pot for while and since I got it. I have used it barely, but I do
enjoy having it. While on the other hand I use the NYX jumbo eye pencils
at least 2-4 times a week as a base. So, now most of you know I love me
so NYX products! Well in the last few months they have come out with
these WONDERFUL eyeshadow bases. There are 3 base colors in total which
are Skin Tone, Pearl, and White. The nyx bases are to help hold the
color all day. Which I can say is true. Now, MAC paint pot in Painterly
has quite a following in it's own right also. This is a wonderful base
as well. And does a GREAT job also at keeping eye color in it's place as
well. So, I was curious as to see how they compare to each other.
Today, I applied my mac paint pot on one eye and the nyx eyeshadow base
on the other. They both are equal in staying power and giving you the
color impact you want and need from a base. So if you need great
eyeshadow base these are two AWESOME options for you to choose from. The
MAC paint pot(s) cost $16.50 and the NYX eyeshadow base(s) cost $7.00.
Also you may luck up and be able to catch a NYX cosmetics on sale in
your area or at nyxcosmetics.com.
If you are looking for MAC check your mall or maccosmetics.com. Until next
time.....Enjoy!
Xoxo,
Y.

Review: Coastal Scents Flat Mineral Bronzer Buffer Large Brush & NYX Cosmetics Haul
Hi , Everyone
This is a review about the brush in the middle from Coastal Scents. I purchased it for just under $5.00.( I know such a great deal, right?) Here is the website if you on the market for a new brush. The rest of the stuff is some NYX products that I got from Ulta are as follows:
~ 2 Eyeshadow base(s) in Skin Tone and White.
~ 2 Jumbo Eye Pencil(s)in Dark Brown and French Fries
~ 8 Mega Shine Lip Gloss(es) in Desert, Tanned, Smokey Look, Sweet Heart, Frosteed Walnut, Hot Fudge, French Kiss, and Natural.
I use mineral make-up as you all know. I have been searching high and low for a brush that I could use for everyday. Plus, I did not want it to cost to much. I noticed that the ELF line had a brush that looks very similar in their brush collection. Which I also learned that the ELF brush handle may come undone in no time, no matter what time length I used it. That was something that was I NOT willing to take a chance on. Anyway, I remembered that Coastal Scents sells cosmetic brushes at affordable prices. When I saw this brush it was EXACTLY what I wanted along with a matching price. I called and spoke to one of there customer service reps (who was really nice and friendly). Who answered all of my questions about the brush. I placed my order on a Wednesday. I received my brush on that following Saturday. When I received my brush it did not have any foul smell when I received it either! Just a really GREAT brush! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE & GREAT PRODUCTS what more could I ask for. Here is the website: www.coastalscents.com
Until next time enjoy.....

Chi Infra Line For Hair Care
Hey Y'all! In the last year I have, had to change my hair regimen to make it more healthy. In my search I have come across one of the best hair care line(s) EVER!!!! I love this stuff. It is so awesome that it really does not matter what your type is this will make your hair SHINE like never before. For real... I got the duos combo packs at Ulta. Which if you have been wanting to try the chi line this is the perfect way to do so! Since the products purchased indivduality can cost a pretty penny. And if you only purchase one product from the Chi line look into the Silk Fusion. If you blow out your hair it really seems to make the blow drying go faster but also make your style last a day or so longer. Now you can also find Chi Products in Target and other stores. Happy Shopping! Until next time Enjoy......Xoxo!!!

Review: St. Ives Fresh Skin Make-up Remover & Facial Cleanser
Hello! You all know how much "I LOVE MAKE-UP", right? And how much I love to talk about it. I just noticed that I have not mentioned how and what I use to remove the make-up at night!! Before I use my Dermalogica face wash. I use the wonderful cream as the first step in my night routine.Okay, I have to confess to you guys something....you ready? Here it comes as much as I luv my mineral make-up. It can very stubborn to remove at night. If you don't get it ALL off of your skin. It can lead to breakouts and what not! So make-up removal is VERY IMPORTANT!!!! My favorite is St. Ives fresh skin make-up remover. I use about the size of a quarter for my face and rub it into my skin. Then use a little bit of water to make a little active and then take a wash cloth to remove it. And WOW.. everything is removed. I really love how well it works on my eye make-up also. I really like how gentle it is on skin. And it does not contain animal by-products and not tested on animals either (happy, happy, joy, joy)! It costs under $5.00 is which great because it is a good size bottle (6oz.). You can find it at all the drug stores and etc. So next time you need a new make-up remover check this one out. Until next time....Enjoy! Xoxo
